The Little Cloud and the Shy Sun

Once upon a time, there was a little white cloud named Nono. He lived high up in the sky, above the mountains and the seas.

Nono was very kind, but a little shy.

Every morning, he tried to hide the sun.

“Oh no… it’s too bright for me,” he would say.

The sun, for his part, smiled gently.

“Good morning, Nono!”

But Nono hid behind other clouds.

One day, the wind spoke to him:

“Why are you always hiding?”

Nono replied:

“I’m not as beautiful as the sun… nor as strong.”

The wind blew gently.

“But without you, the sky would be empty.”

Nono didn’t understand.

That day, a small town down below was waiting for rain.

The plants were thirsty.

The children looked up at the sky with hope.

“We need rain!” said a flower.

But Nono was still hesitating.

“What if I get in the way?”

The sun approached gently.

“Nono, you don’t have to be like me. You have your own role.”

Nono thought about it.

Then, for the first time, he stepped forward in front of the sun.

Little by little, he grew bigger, gentler, braver.

And it began to rain.

A light, perfect rain.

The flowers smiled.

The rivers sang.

The children danced beneath the raindrops.

Nono was surprised.

“I’ve made everyone happy…”

The sun smiled:

“See? Being yourself is your greatest strength.”

From that day on, Nono was no longer afraid.

Sometimes he made it rain; sometimes he let the sun shine through.

And the sky was always beautiful, thanks to him.
