Once upon a time, there was a little turtle named Tina. She lived beside a peaceful pond surrounded by tall reeds and colorful wildflowers.
Tina was kind and curious, but she had a rather unusual dream.
“I wish I could run as fast as the wind!” she often said.
Her friends smiled.
“But turtles move slowly,” the duck reminded her.
“Maybe,” Tina replied, “but I want to try!”
The next morning, Tina decided to start practicing.
She stretched out her neck, moved her little legs as fast as she could, and crossed a small path.
“I’m running! I’m running!” she shouted happily.
Just then, a rabbit hopped past her.
“Hello, Tina!” he called before disappearing into the distance.
The little turtle sighed.
“I’ll never be as fast as him.”
Later that day, she met an old owl perched in a tree.
“Why do you look so sad?” the owl asked.
Tina explained her dream.
The owl thought for a moment.
“Everyone has a different talent. Have you ever looked at what you do better than anyone else?”
Tina wasn’t sure.
So she continued her walk.
Along the way, she spotted a family of ants looking for a safe place to rest after a rain shower.
“Climb onto my shell,” Tina offered.
The ants happily accepted.
Tina gently carried them to a dry place.
“Thank you, Tina!” they said.
A little farther down the path, she saw a snail struggling to cross the trail.
Tina patiently helped the snail reach the other side.
At the end of the day, all the animals thanked her for her kindness.
Then the old owl returned.
“You see?” he said. “You may not be the fastest, but you are dependable, patient, and always ready to help others.”
Tina smiled.
She realized that being fast was not the most important thing.
From that day on, she moved at her own pace without comparing herself to others.
Whenever she saw the rabbit racing across the meadow, she waved her little foot and continued on her way with pride.
Because she had discovered that everyone is special in their own way.
